Here are some natural remedies that will eliminate the phlegm and mucus very quickly:

*Turmeric*

Curcumin, its active compound is responsible for most of the medicinal properties. It can fight bacteria and when it is combined with salt, it treats sore throat and soothes infections.

Needed ingredients:
-One tsp. of turmeric;
-Half tsp. of salt;
-One glass of warm water;

Add the ingredients into the water and stir well. Consume three to four times a day to reduce phlegm buildup and loosen the mucus.

*Ginger*

It is antihistamine and decongestant with antiviral and antibacterial properties that treat many illnesses and boost immunity. It soothes congestion. Chew few ginger slices a day or consume three to four cups of the following tea to soothe congestion:

-Six to seven pieces of ginger;
-One tsp. of black peppercorn;
-One tsp of honey;
-Two cups of water;

Heat the water and when it starts to simmer, add the peppercorns and ginger slices. After one minute, cover it and lower the heat. Let it simmer for five to seven minutes, strain the liquid and add the honey.

*ACV*

It is healthy and it regulates the pH balance and prevents excessive mucus production. Add one tsp. of ACV in a glass of water and consume few times a day in order to remove phlegm. Gargle this solution to soothe a sore throat.

*Steaming*

The steam loosens the mucus and phlegm and clears the airways. It soother the congestion and provides relief.

-Half a tsp. of thyme;
-Half a tsp. of dried rosemary;
-Four to five cups of boiling water;

Add the herbs in the water and inhale the vapors. Place towel over the head. Do this 3-4 times a day.

*Honey and lemon*

Honey has anti-fungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties which soothe the irritated respiratory tract and the lemon and its content of vitamin C boost the immunity and clear the airway.

-One tbs. of honey;
-Two tbs. of lemon juice;

Stir the ingredients and consume it three times a day to relieve congestion
