This Is Why You Should Never Eat At Jimmy John’s Again!

(This Is Why You Should Never Eat At Jimmy John’s Again!)

People need to know the difference between a hunter and a poacher, because many times there has been a confusion in the understanding of what they are and people tend to mix them both up. A hunter us someone who goes out and hunts game, following all the regulations and laws behind the hunting of their respective preferred animal for hunting. On the other hand s poacher is a hunter who violates all hunting regulations and indiscriminately hunts animals that are restricted from hunting because of their propensity to being extinct.

The white rhino is one animal that was once labelled extinct, but today there is a steady growing number of rhinos available in the world. In South Africa alone there are 14,000 white rhinos available and this number is steadily on the increase. The success of the breeding of these rhinos cannot be put solely at the door step of government and conservationists, but rather private ranchers have a big part to play in the survival of these animals, as they are the ones who breed these animals for hunting purposes, under the strict guidelines set by government, who cannot afford to solely cater for their wellbeing and have to rely on these ranch owners to provide the financial means to ensure the survival of the species.

The ranchers have to make money from the harvesting and sale of valuable parts of the animal, but only when the time is right for such and only after the animal is a progenitor of several offspring to replace it.

The government owned national parks are incapable of breeding and catering for the welfare of these animals on their own and the animals are at a greater risk of being indiscriminately hunted by poachers who want to profit where they have not sown.

When Jimmy John Liataud was pictured besides animals he had hunted, such as the African elephant and white rhino, this sent shock waves online and conservationists started a campaign to compel people to boycott eating out at Jimmy John Liataud’s restaurants, however what they failed to realise is that this man had paid more than $350,000 in licensing costs, to be able to hunt the game he was seen posing with.

It is this money paid and many more by rich business owners who have a liking for hunting that is used to take care of the costs of breeding these animals and taking care of their welfare. So before anyone jumps on the boycott wagon, they need to ask themselves how on earth are the animals being raised in the first place and who is protecting and caring for them? Well, it’s definitely not those that have started the boycott campaign nor is it the conservationists. It is privately owned ranches, this is their source of livelihood and if you take that away from them, then you may as well support the extinction of the rare and exotic white rhino and other relatively extinct animals.
