A lot of researches have found that increasing consumption of plant foods like sweet potatoes decreases the risk of heart disease ,diabetes, obesity, and overall mortality while promoting a overall lower weight , healthy complexion, increased energy etc.

You can grow you own potatoes inside your home if you have a grow lights or sunny window.

Directions of how to plant sweet potatoes in jar:

1. Choose a, clean, healthy and organic sweet potato with no signs of rot or soft spots. Rinse the sweet potato in cool water to remove any caked on dirt.

2. Poke four toothpicks into the sides of the organic sweet potato. Place them smoothly so that they will form a circle around the middle of the tuber.

3. Take a glass jar and fill it with water. The mouth of the jar must be wide enough to hold the potato on toothpicks. Put the sweet potato into the entering of the jar with the narrow, with the pointed down. The toothpicks have to be on the rim of the jar.

4. Fill the jar with water until it reach ½ inch below the rim. Most of the bottom half of the sweet potato should be dip in water. You must insure that potato’s eyes must be covered with water, or otherwise they won`t sprout.

5. Place the jar in a very sunny location. A sun facing window is perfect location. You can place the jar beneath grow lights. You’ll notice that new shoots begin to appear within several days. About one week later tiny roots will emerge.

6. Be careful to keep an eye on the plant and add water if you need to keep the potato’s eyes covered.

7. When the roots have sprouted transplant the potato to a medium size container.
